Transfers from Legazpi to Bulusan using public transportation. Your guide will be with you the entire time. Total travel time will be about 3 hours. Lunch will be ready for you upon arrival at Bulusan Lake. The Bulusan Lake is also where you find the visitors center where you will need to register and do the pre-trek medical check-up. After eating and a little bit of rest, you will start your trek up Bulusan Volcano. Bulusan Volcano is not only an active volcano but it is a lush natural rainforest. Your guide will be describing the different trees, plants, birds, and animals that you will see along the way. There will be times where your guide will find some edible mushrooms, ferns, fruits, or berries which he may gather for one of your meals. Along the way, you we visit an area which the local government is re-foresting and you will be planting a tree there. Prior to the Bulusan area
becoming a protected national park, there was a lot of illegal logging operations on the volcano. With your help, we wish to have the Bulusan rainforest bloom into an even more beautiful and diverse ecosystem. After about 4 hours of exploring Bulusan. You will start to set up camp at Sharp Peak. Sharp Peak is what scientists call a fomma (a remnant of an old volcano). This is probably the most scenic place on the entire Bulusan Volcano. Here you can see the moonrise and the sunrise. And when you look down, you will see the contour of the land of the Sorsogon province with the Pacific Ocean, Sorsogon Bay, and Albay Gulf displayed very distinctly. And if you look down the slopes of the Bulusan Volcano, you will have a picture perfect view of the the volcano’s 2 lakes – the Bulusan Lake and the Agingay Lake. Dinner will be prepared at the campsite. You will be camping on the volcano.
The wake-up call will be at 0600H and you will traverse for about 3 hours to Agingay Lake. You will set up camp here and have lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to summit of Bulusan Volcano. The summit of Bulusan Volcano is at 1565 meters above sea level. The trek to the summit will be about 3 hours. You will only be staying at the summit for a maximum of 20 minutes for safety reasons. After conquering the summit, you will head back down to the campsite where you will have dinner and rest for the evening. When the sky is clear, the Agingay Lake area is the best place for stargazing. Dinner will be prepared at the campsite. You will be camping on the volcano.
It is recommended to wake up at about 0500H or when the wild roosters start to crow. Agingay Lake is surrounded by a lush forest and is a wonderful place to see birds endemic to the area doing their morning routine. You will also have the chance to spot monkeys and wild boars while you are here. After breakfast and when all your things are packed, you will head back down to Bulusan Lake. This will be about a 2 hour descent. Expected arrival time back to the visitor center grounds will be at 1100H where you will be welcomed by the friendly locals with lunch, drinks, and then someone to give your feet a quick restful massage. After a little bit of rest, you will travel back to Legazpi City.
Included: Transportation from and back to Legazpi City (public guided transfers for 1 to 4 persons travelling together; private transfers arrangement for 5 persons and up), accommodations and activities for 3 days and 2 nights as stated in the itinerary, and a full board meal plan.
